Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams is the daughter of
Sandra Kay (Gale), an Ontario nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams a truck driver
as well as furniture movers. Her birthplace was in London, Ontario on November
17th 1978. She is Englishas well as Welsh- -, Irish--, and Scottish. Rachel
began acting as an adult. By the age 13 she was performing in Shakespearean
performances at summer theater camp. After graduating, Rachel received a BFA
degree from York University in Theater. Following her TV debut on Disney's The
Famous Jett Jackson in 1998, Rachel was a part of Canadian TV's Slings and
Arrows 2003. The comedy drama follows the struggle of Shakespearean theater
groups. The actress was awarded an award called the Gemini Award for her
performance in 2003. The role she played in Mean Girls (2004) as Regina George
instantly landed her on the Hollywood's hot list of promising young actors. In
the following film she was cast alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama
adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was
a hugely successful film at the box office , and was the most loved romantic
drama for a young audience. After the film was completed, McAdams and Gosling
became engaged and started dating until the middle of 2007. McAdams next showcased
her versatility onscreen with the manic comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the
thriller Red Eye (2005), and the holiday-themed drama The Family Stone
(2005).McAdams then took on the world of independent films with Married Life
(2007), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and also included Pierce
Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. McAdams starred in The Lucky Ones
(2007) and State of Play (2008) as well as State of Play (2008). She also
played in the film The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy
Ritchie's international hit Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the determined
producer of a failing morning television show in Morning Glory (2010), the
attractive fiancee of Owen Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011) and
then returned to romantic drama with the cult film The Vow (2012) opposite
Channing Tatum. McAdams is also in the film with Ben Affleck in Terrence
Malick's To the Wonder (2012) and alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's
thriller Passion (2012).In 2005, McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting
Actress of the Year" Award, as well as the "Breakthrough Actress of
the Year" at the Hollywood Film Awards
