Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born 26
August 2002, is a popular American musician and singer. The success of
"Ransom," his 2019 single, helped him to become a popular star. The
single was released as part of his mixtape debut "We Love You Tecca"
(2019), which reached fourth place on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also
included the singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again". The
album he released as his debut"Virgo World" (2020), debuted at the
top of the Billboard 200 at number 10. It included the Billboard Hot 100
chart-charting songs "Dolly", as well as "When You Down".
His second mixtape "We Love You Tecca 2" was released in August 2021.
It featured "Repeat It", and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin
Anthony Sharpe was born August 26, 2002 in the Queens area in New York City to
Jamaican immigrants. He was born in Queens in Springfield Gardens. However,
Sharpe later relocated to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe was a child who had
plans to be a basketball player. However, his attention shifted to music at age
12. He attended Lawrence High School. Tecca, nine years old at the time, was
rapping along with his friends with his Xbox to record. One of their tracks
about diss was uploaded to SoundCloud some time ago, however it has since been
deleted. In his first years when he was a kid, he did not have any plans to
pursue a career in music and instead envisioned becoming an NBA superstar. He
began to pursue music more seriously after having dropped the interest in
basketball at the age of middle school. The first track to become famous,
"Tectri", was composed by Lil Gummybear in partnership with Lil
Gummybear and released in the beginning of 2017. He also released
"Callin" as one of his first tracks. The song that he topped the
charts "Ransom," which was first uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical
lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd of 2019, started the meteoric rise of
Tecca. The song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has
received more than 990 million plays on Spotify and more than 300 million views
on YouTube.
