Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was an Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was aware that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition she was ranked within the top two places in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set the Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. In 2007, she won the title by beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed within the top three athletes in each of her events.
